  • What is sandblasting?
    “Sandblasting” is basically what it sounds like - it’s the process of blasting sand particles at high speed to carve into a smooth surface. Sandblasting basically involves the sand particles being propelled by compressed air through a tube and the sand shoots through a nozzle at the end of the tube, hitting the glass and corroding the surface, leaving a milky white opaque look to it. Different etching effects are obtained by varying the amount of sand used, the speed of the jet and the nozzle at the end of the tube. The amazing patterns and detail you often see in sandblasted panes is created by simply ‘masking off’ the areas of the glass you don’t want affected by the sand with an adhesive vinyl. The masked off areas are not susceptible to the sand blasting, so remain crystal clear. This decorating method leaves a beautiful frosted etched marking on the glass that will last forever.
  • What can you sandblast onto glass?
    We typically say we can sandblast anything onto glass! That said, there are limitations to how small details can be. We will work with you to ensure the design you choose can be successfully sandblasted.
  • What is the cost of a typical glass?
    The majority of our individual glassware with one design costs $16-$20.
  • What type of glassware do you sandblast onto?
    Our website displays the glassware we typically stock. If there is a specific style of glassware you would like sandblasted Contact Us (link) to discuss further.
  • Do you charge a set-up fee?
    We do not for most orders. We do when there is substantial time required (this will always be discussed up front). The ‘creativity’ phase, where we work with the customer to ensure the design is a personal reflection of the receiver, is very enjoyable and rewarding for us.
  • Can I order one glass?
    Absolutely! There is no requirement to order more than one piece of glassware. We warn you though, personalizing glassware is fun and somewhat addictive - there’s a good chance you’ll order more glassware in the future :)
  • Do you offer discounts on volume orders?
    Yes we do. Please Contact Us (link) to discuss your ideas and pricing.
  • How long will it take for me to receive my order?
    From the time the design is finalized, typically 1-2 weeks. That said, we’ve etched glasses in one day to help with a last minute gift idea. Orders can take up to 4 weeks during peak periods; holidays, weddings, graduation, Christmas season.
  • Can I provide my own design?
    We regularly work with designs provided by our customers. Email us your design idea and we’ll let you know if we can make it happen!
  • Do you do custom engraving?
    We do! Email us with your job request and we'll provide a quote.
  • Can you etch glassware that I already own?
    Perhaps, depending on many factors (age, condition, thickness, quality, etc.). Email us to start the discussion.
  • Can sandblasted glassware be put into my dishwasher?
    Yes, all of our etched glassware is top-rack dishwasher safe. The hand-etched design will never wear off no matter how many times it is washed!
  • Where are you located?
    We proudly etch and ship our glassware from our etching shop on Vancouver Island, in beautiful British Columbia, on the west coast of Canada. We respectfully acknowledge we live and work on the unceded traditional territory of the K'ómoks First Nation, the traditional keepers of this land.
  • Do you have a studio I can visit?
    Yes! Our studio is currently open by appointment only.
  • Is there any design you won’t sandblast?
    We will not sandblast anything that is sexist, racist or homophobic.
  • I need a glass for a specific date SOON. Can you get it to me in time?
    We’ll certainly do everything we can to make it happen! Email us and we'll be able to suggest available shipping options.
  • HELP, I have a question that’s not answered here, what do I do?
    Send us an email with your question. We typically respond to emails within 24-48 hours during business days.
  • What payment methods are available?
    We accept payments by all major credit cards and debit cards (excluding American Express). We also accept e transfer if that's easier for you, but need to be arranged directly with us! E-transfers are direct from bank to bank and also 100% secure.
  • What is your return and refund policy?
    We only offer a return or refund for a damaged or wrong product. Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately if the item is damaged or you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right. Take a photo of the damaged product and send it to us at We'll either send a replacement or issue you a refund. We have a 14-day return or refund policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return or refund. To start a return or refund, you can contact us at to confirm your return or refund meets our criteria. We will send you instructions on how and where to send your package. Personal Reflections will be responsible for return shipping costs. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. You can always contact us for any return question at If we approve a refund, it will be processed via the original payment method. Please remember it can take several business days for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund.
  • Can I cancel my order?
    We can only cancel an order if it has not been etched. Usually orders are processed within 24 hours, so this limits our ability to cancel an order before this time.
  • How long will it take to get my order?
    Your glass is typically etched the next business day after the order is placed. If you choose a "UPS" shipping option at checkout, it'll ship the next business day after the order is placed. If you choose a "USPS" shipping option, it'll ship the 2nd business days after the order is placed. Shipping times will depend on the shipping option you choose. We have a few options available at checkout: - USPS First Class Shipping - generally takes 4-8 days - USPS Priority Shipping - generally takes 2-3 days - UPS 2nd Day - takes 2 business days - UPS Overnight - takes 1 business day - International Orders - currently takes 2-4 weeks (please note we are not responsible for customs fees that may be incurred in the destination country)
  • Where is my order?
    All orders are shipped with full tracking, for your convenience. This tracking number will be in your Shipping Notification email.

    These terms and conditions (the "Terms and Conditions") govern the use of (the "Site"). This Site is owned and operated by Personal Reflections. This Site is an ecommerce website. By using this Site, you indicate that you have read and understand these Terms and Conditions and agree to abide by them at all times. Intellectual Property All content published and made available on our Site is the property of Personal Reflections and the Site's creators. This includes, but is not limited to images, text, logos, documents, downloadable files and anything that contributes to the composition of our Site. Sale of Goods These Terms and Conditions govern the sale of goods available on our Site. The following goods are available on our Site: - Etched glassware. These Terms and Conditions apply to all the goods that are displayed on our Site at the time you access it. This includes all products listed as being out of stock. All information, descriptions, or images that we provide about our goods are as accurate as possible. However, we are not legally bound by such information, descriptions, or images as we cannot guarantee the accuracy of all goods we provide. You agree to purchase goods from our Site at your own risk. We reserve the right to modify, reject or cancel your order whenever it becomes necessary. If we cancel your order and have already processed your payment, we will give you a refund equal to the amount you paid. You agree that it is your responsibility to monitor your payment instrument to verify receipt of any refund. Payments We accept the following payment methods on our Site: - Credit Card; - contact us if you would like to send an etransfer (only within Canada). When you provide us with your payment information, you authorize our use of and access to the payment instrument you have chosen to use. By providing us with your payment information, you authorize us to charge the amount due to this payment instrument. If we believe your payment has violated any law or these Terms and Conditions, we reserve the right to cancel or reverse your transaction. Technology/Equipment Failure In the event there is a technology/equipment failure during production of an order and the order is delayed, Personal Reflections will correspond with the customer about the delay. If the order is time-sensitive and the delay results in the glassware arriving late, the order can be cancelled and a refund will be issued within four (4) weeks of the order date. Shipping and Delivery When you purchase goods from our Site, the goods will be delivered through one of the following methods: - Regular Parcel by Canada Post 3 days (regional) - 10 days (national). - Xpresspost by Canada Post 1 day (regional) - 2 days (national). Delivery will take place as soon as reasonably possible, depending on the delivery method selected. Delivery times may vary due to unforeseen circumstances. Please note that delivery times do not include weekends and statutory holidays. You will be required to pay delivery charges in addition to the price for the goods you purchase. If you purchase goods from us for delivery to a destination outside Canada your purchase may be subject to import duties and taxes applied by the destination country. You are responsible for paying any such duties or taxes. Please contact your local customs office for more information before making a purchase. We are not responsible for the payment of any such duties or taxes and are not liable for any failure by you to pay them. You are required to provide us with a complete and accurate delivery address, including the name of the recipient. We are not liable for the delivery of your goods to the wrong address or wrong person as a result of you providing us with inaccurate or incomplete information. Refunds Refund requests must be made within 104 days after receipt of your goods. We accept refund requests for goods sold on our Site for any of the following reasons: - Good is broken; or - Good does not match description. Returns Returns can be made in person at the following location(s): To our studio. Returns can be made by mail. To return goods by mail, follow the following procedure: Pack your glassware and go to your nearest post office and pay the necessary postage. Consumer Protection Law Where the Business Practice and Consumer Protection Act, or any other consumer protection legislation in your jurisdiction applies and cannot be excluded, these Terms and Conditions will not limit your legal rights and remedies under that legislation. These Terms and Conditions will be read subject to the mandatory provisions of that legislation. If there is a conflict between these Terms and Conditions and that legislation, the mandatory provisions of the legislation will apply. Limitation of Liability Personal Reflections and our directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates will not be liable for any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees from your use of the Site. Indemnity Except where prohibited by law, by using this Site you indemnify and hold harmless Personal Reflections and our directors, officers, agents, employees, subsidiaries, and affiliates from any actions, claims, losses, damages, liabilities and expenses including legal fees arising out of your use of our Site or your violation of these Terms and Conditions. Applicable Law These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia. Severability If at any time any of the provisions set forth in these Terms and Conditions are found to be inconsistent or invalid under applicable laws, those provisions will be deemed void and will be removed from these Terms and Conditions. All other provisions will not be affected by the removal and the rest of these Terms and Conditions will still be considered valid.
